The Primary will be singing "If I Listen With My Heart" during Sacrament Meeting this Sunday.  The song is track 1 on the CD we gave out at Christmas.  You can listen to the recording, download an MP3, or download a PDF of the sheet music here.  We hope to see all of our Primary children this Sunday!

Feast Upon the Word!

This month we are learning about the Scriptures and what it means to "Feast upon the words of Christ."  Children have learned about the Standard Works and what each contains.  We will be promoting daily, prayerful scripture study for all family members, even the little ones!

This month's song is "If I Listen With My Heart."  Click on the title to open a link to the MP3, which can be downloaded.  It is track 1 on the CD we handed out in December.

Thanks, and enjoy your January!

Program A Success!

Thanks to all of our wonderful Primary children for such a great program today.  We heard tons of great comments from the Bishopric, the Stake Primary Presidency, and members of the ward.  We have a great Primary!

Remember that next week is Stake Conference, so we will not meet on the 24th.  Stake Conference will be at the Eagle Springs building.

Girls have activity night this Wednesday (10/19) and the boys have Scouts.

Saturday, October 30 (at 6:30?) will be the ward Trunk-Or-Treat.  There will be games inside the building and trunk-or-treating in the parking lot.  We hope to see you all there!

Primary Program: It's coming!

We began handing out assignments for our annual program yesterday.  If your child is in senior primary, he or she is being asked to write a short thought or talk and submit it back to me by the first Sunday in August.  (Parts can be e-mailed to me at deb1000faces@yahoo.com or handed to any member of the presidency anytime.)

ALERT: BRING YOUR SCRIPTURES!

Reminder: we want all Primary children to bring scriptures every week.  (For the little ones, a full quad isn't necessary; just a Book of Mormon or whatever you have is fine.  We just want them in the habit!)

Tomorrow it is especially important for senior primary (ages 7-11) to bring scriptures, as we will be using them during sharing time.  I have a game planned that will go much more smoothly if we have lots of kids with their own scriptures.

Thanks!

Today in Primary...

Our Primary children were able to re-enact Lehi's dream, thanks to Brother Keith Hall's construction of the Iron Rod and the Straight and Narrow Way.  He even provided some Swirling Mists of Darkness, thanks to what I believe was a liquid nitrogen pump!  We want to thank Brother Hall for making this available to the Primary.  The kids really liked it!

It was also an exciting day for the children because they got to hear from Bishop Cobabe, who learned that "J" stands for Joey, Joshua, and Jacob.  The children learned that "J" stands for Jesus, who should be the anchor of our lives.  We love it when we get to hear from the Bishopric!

Have a great week, everyone!

Family Home Evenings & the Primary Program

This year's theme for Primary is "I Know My Savior Lives."  Each month we cover a different topic related to the theme, which is divided into lessons for each week for sharing time in Junior and Senior Primary.

In the sidebar to the right of this post is a link which will take you to a site where you can download a PDF file containing Family Home Evening lessons that correlate to each sharing time.  (It even suggests treats!)  We encourage all of our families to look at this document and see if it can be useful to you in your Family Home Evening planning.

(Also, our children age 8-11 are working on their Faith In God awards.  The child preparing and teaching Family Home Evening on different topics can fulfill some of the requirements!)

Have a wonderful week!
